If you like cold weather then you should visit Manali in the months of October to February. However, to experience snowfall, you need to visit in the months of December or January. But you cannot visit Rohtang during this time as it will be closed due to snowfall. For honeymooners, March to April is the best time as it is off season and there is less crowd and since the sky is clear and blue, its the perfect time for photography. May-June is the period when Rohtang is open for tourists but this is also the peak season so the rates are high and its crowded in Manali. For tourists interested in visiting apple orchards, September is the best time to visit.

To get an aerial view of the snow capped mountain peaks, flying to Manali is the best option. Bhuntar is the nearest airport to Manali, 52 kms away. You can also travel via road to Manali from Delhi or Chandigarh. Buses run frequently on this route.  There are many hotels and lodges available for accommodation in different budget ranges as per the preference of tourists which makes it a backpacking centre as well as a popular honeymoon destination. If you are visiting during the season time, do book your hotel online in advance.
